This Spotlight is a little bit of history lesson on how REI Concrete came from a startup to the absolute best in the game.

After 5 years in the ready mix business in sales and quality control, I decided to start Reese Enterprises Inc. DBA REI Concrete in 1994. The demand for a high quality concrete finishing outfit was high and REI took the bull by the horns and started its first major project in 1996 on what is now called the Bridgestone Arena. 1.3 million square feet of flat work later and without a failing FF/FL number on the entire project.

Then it was on to the first residential Condominium project with its own little grocery on Church Street called the Viridian. R.J. Griffin now known as J.E. Dunn built this and gave us the opportunity to place and finish their concrete. This was especially difficult as we used a very fast setting type III cement normally used in extreme cold conditions up north. REI topped this one out and moved on the Encore, the Adelicia, the Pinnacle Building, the Rhythm, Hyatt House Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, the Westin, J.W. Marriott, the Cambria, the Margaritaville, the Tri Brand Marriott, the Bridgestone tower and many more. REI is currently under Contract to place and finish over 4 million Square feet and many turn key projects going on as well. Some of our ongoing projects include the 4 Seasons Hotel and Condominiums with Baker Concrete. 1.3 million Square Feet at the new Asurion H.Q. Nashville with Brasfield and Gorrie. The Hyatt Centric, 17th and Grand and 1812 Broadway with J.E. Dunn. The West End Residential with McHugh Construction, 6th South with Ceco Concrete & many more.


In 2019 we poured a total of 4.6 million square feet in the Nashville area alone which is an average of 88,500 square feet per week or roughly 18,000 square feet per working day.

REI Concrete performs turnkey projects of all sizes & shapes to include foundations, structural & retaining concrete walls, slab on grade prep & placement as well as metal deck preparation and placement to include all materials or labor only your choice. Some of our ongoing Turn Key projects include the city of Brentwood Police HQ a 56,000 square foot 2 story building, the Candlewood Hotel in Nashville & the Mainstay Suites Hotel in Murfreesboro, TN.
